Just because I am this far into the project, I decided to disassemble the shifting unit, clean/ lubricate, and reassemble it.
After I cleaned the bell housing off, I notice that there were a few cracks so they were welded up.
Resurfaced the fly wheel for $20. I made sure that they used a grinding stone which gives the fly wheel a non directional pattern on it.
I felt that the original bend in the hoses was too constrictive for the coolant. To eliminate the hoses from making the bends, I installed these 90 degrees pipes that I bought from Lowes.
I also did some major cleaning/polishing of the wheels which I will go further into detail about in another article.
And that’s it. This project took a lot of time, money, and hard work but in the end it was completely worth it. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
